Complex Man Mag decided to come up with a list of the top 5 femme fatales in Black Cinema, so let’s get it cracking at #5.
5. Robin Givens as ‘Jacqueline’ in “Boomerang”. The term ‘femme fatale’ is usually saved for suspense films, but we can all agree that Robin seduced the heck out or Eddie Murphy and a ton of other brothers back in her “Boomerang” days.

4. Sanaa Lathan for her role as the shady vixen, ‘Anne’ in “Out of Time”, which stars Denzel Washington. Sanaa was so convincing in the movie, she has been plagued with rumors of an off-screen affair with Denzel for years.

3. Grace Jones gets the #3 spot for her role as May Day in “A View To a Kill”. Back in the 80′s, Grace Jones paved the way for the Beyonce’s of today. She modelled for the top designers in Paris, had a hit album, and was the very 1st Black Bond Girl ever!
2. Halle Berry as ‘Ginger Knowles’ in “Swordfish”. Halle nailed the role… we didn’t know if she was a good guy or a bad guy, and we didn’t care either way.
1. Thandie Newton gets the #1 spot for her role as the sultry jewel thief, Niyah Hordhoff-Hall, in “Mission Impossible 2″. Thandie got the role from being old friends with Tom Cruise’s then wife, Nicole Kidman, who thought she was perfect for the part. Naturally, she was. Don’t believe us, watch the dance sequence in the beginning of the movie, when she and Tom Cruise first encounter each other in Spain.
