Young, yet feeling old due to some losses up there? It is really a bit off and could probably lower your self-esteem, but it can still be cured!
You may have notice som e gradual disappearance starting from the sides to the top at any time – may you be a college student or a middle-aged yuppie. We talk about hair and its threatening invisibility on your head.
Men are prone to this kind of phenomenon. For some, it starts early like when they become adolescents, yet for others, it comes on the last half of their twenties or early thirties. It will begin with your hair becoming thin and as it goes, hair loss gets wider until you can already see the scalp.
Because men look at hair loss in different perspectives, there are those who just let it since they believe it is natural, or inherited, while for some, it makes them conscious as it forms part of their overall presentation of themselves. More often than not, hair loss for the more concerned becomes a ground of depression for them.
Hair loss, to be more understood, it brought by excessive amount of chemical called DHT or dihydrotosterone. DHT makes the hair follicles grown thinner and at the end, fallout from the scalp. Aside this, you can get hair loss as well from anemia, poor thyroid, scalp infection and stress most especially.
So, the remedy?
Actually there are a lot. You can start by getting to the roots of the cause. If you are anemic, then start taking iron supplements; when stressed, find time to relax and take some multivitamins to balance your immune system. Seeing a doctor is another option you can take. His prescriptions may help you better as your scalp and blood, for some cases, gets checked-up, plus proper attention and regimen will be provided. Herbal products like those in shampoo, hair crèmes and the likes have also been widely accepted and have worked for many. Just be sure to check it first before trying one.
In connection to hair loss treatment, a new drug has now been offered in the market, particularly in the UK, and this is Finasteride. This is an oral treatment and comes in tablet form. Not only does this prevent hair loss, it can even aid in causing hair to re-grow. What’s more surprising about this, the drug is said to be just effective on men and not to women suffering the same problem, however, the benefits are only effective as long as the pill is taken. It could be a temporary remedy only as it can only maintain the hair grown for about half year only. Finasteride works best on the crown area and in the hairline. Side effects are not really evident, though some who have taken it reported that they have experienced lesser desire for sex.
There are more natural and safer means of dealing with hair loss. All that matters is that you take them with caution and with proper application. The head is equally sensitive, that’s why, gentle care must be used. Consulting specialists is still the best action.
