CMM Recommends These Nuts

Sorry, I meant – These healthy nuts! You know? Walnuts, Peanuts, Almonds, etc…

Ok, so I understand how it must feel to walk up to the counter and say ‘can I see those nuts?’ or ‘what’s the price on these nuts?’ – but, Man-Up…

Nuts provide proteins, minerals, nutrients, good monounsaturated fats and they’re good for the heart. Matter of fact, studies have shown that eating nuts can lower the risk of heart disease, keep weight down and help lower bad “LDL” cholesterol.

A small handful can usually satisfy hunger and help you feel full longer. While there are many nuts to chose from, here are the favorite and healthiest six (6).

1. Walnuts: contain the antioxidant compound – ellagic acid, which is known to fight cancer and support the immune system.

2. Almonds: contain nutrient magnesium, potassium, manganese, copper, the antioxidants vitamin E and selenium, and calcium. They’re also great for the colon and for lowering cholesterol.

3. Cashews: are lower in fat than most nuts, and 65 percent of this fat is unsaturated fatty acids. 90 percent is oleic acid, the heart-healthy fat found in olive oil and they are rich in copper, magnesium, zinc, iron and biotin.

4. Pecans: are an excellent source of over 19 vitamins and minerals including vitamins E and A, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, copper, phosphorus, potassium, manganese, several B vitamins and zinc. Also, the National Pecan Shellers Association claims that pecans can significantly help lower blood cholesterol and help to clear the arteries.

5. Brazil Nuts: they are extremely nutrient-rich and contain protein, copper, niacin, magnesium, fiber, vitamin E and selenium. Selenium is a powerful antioxidant that works to neutralize dangerous free radicals and a study at the University of Illinois found that high amounts of selenium found in Brazil nuts may help prevent breast cancer. (So your girl should eat some nuts)

6. Macadamia Nuts: they are high in protein, fiber, healthy monounsaturated fats, potassium and magnesium.

So go to your nearest grocery store or supermarket and find you some NUTS for a healthier you :)
