Wake up Call! Are you a Metrosexual?

You’ve heard it, seen it and knew it…men are getting adept with fashion and stuff like that. The olden days have gone out of the lane and traditional get-ups are not-so-in now! Hair styles, colors, accessories and more – alarming?

And here comes the term Metrosexual.

In different reviews and in acceptable definitions, a man is identified as a metrosexual when he spends extraordinary time and money as well for a lavish or very organized lifestyle, with more emphasis on physical appearance. Male fashion is a metrosexual’s obsession, that’s certain.

Getting quite nervous? Here’s our seven cents to help you know if you’re one!

  1. The most obvious of all: Gay men hit on you. It’s a given and common sense, right?
  2. Carrying a purse is okay, it’s actually a man’s bag, yet check on the designer label, there, particular about it? There you go…it gives your ticket to metrosexualdom!
  3. If you care a lot about your feet, it’s definitely fine, but having an overreaction on the socks you choose, its design and label…hmmm, it could be a different story. Metrosexuals care much about socks!
  4. Too concerned with your hair? Using more than one product? Getting hair removal services apart from do-it-your-own shaving?  That could be a sign…
  5. If you spend hours mix-matching your suits or wardrobe, it’s also an alert.
  6. Your nails are always manicured.
  7. You are so attracted that you care enough to dine in the best restos and get designer items most of the time.

So that was the short list, actually it can go farther to say, having a stylist know you by your name and give you the latest trendy cut…there’s really a lot more and you’ll be surprised!

And if you are nodding to most of these items then you might be on the verge of proclaiming that you are a certified metrosexual!

BUT just stop a while, metrosexual is not a crime that much. In modest manner, a metrosexual is somewhat a simple acceptance that man embraces his feminine side and is just caring about his presentation. Even a straight and committed man may be too O.C. about the way they look, but that doesn’t generally mean that they are metrosexuals already. However, the main difference dwells on the reaction to detail. A man who goes too much or over-the-top of his appearance and physical attributes is certainly and no-doubt, a metrosexual.

Men would be caring enough to spend on quality that’s why they get more expensive clothing’s and other things than their girlfriends, but nonetheless, these men shop or avail services in lesser frequency than girls, actually way too far from the frequency that women spend on malls or shops. But then you will notice that metrosexuals will spend more time and money as well not just for basic goods but for more stuff, take note on a regular basis – could be nail care, skin consulting, treatment, hair coloring, accessories and more…like bronzers?

Really, it’s beginning to be widespread and if you get caught in the middle of a colony of guys with these practices, at least you’ve been warned!

Know what matters and what you really need. After all it will help you…and your pocket!
